A thief who stole two valuable mandolins from a New Jersey guitar store on December 22 returned them days later in shopping bags with a handwritten apology note stating, "SORRY, I BEEN DRUNK, MERRY CHRISTMAS. You are good man." Store owner Buzzy Levine was astonished by the return, which followed a brief chase after the suspect fled. The store had released surveillance footage of the theft, and believes public attention pressured the thief to return the instruments, valued between $3,500 and $4,250. Police are still investigating the incident.
