In 2025, red sanders smuggling saw a significant decline with a record 87.5% conviction rate achieved by the Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) in Tirupati. This improvement is attributed to quality investigations and timely chargesheets. The RSASTF also initiated property attachments against smugglers and arrested 10 most-wanted individuals across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. Inter-state operations led to the seizure of red sanders logs valued at ₹16.5 crore.
