Areeb Majeed, accused in an ISIS-related case and out on bail, alleged that two individuals posing as Indian Army personnel visited his home in Kalyan on February 21, 2026, seeking his help in a covert operation and offering to 'wipe out' his pending trial in return. Suspecting impersonation and undue influence, Majeed refused entry and alerted authorities. The special NIA court has taken cognisance of the complaint, describing it as a serious incident involving suspected impersonation and interference with justice, and has issued notices to the Bazar Peth police and the NIA for their response.
