A 23-year-old woman in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district was raped twice on February 22—first by her boyfriend who promised marriage, then by a stranger who offered help. The stranger subsequently threw her off a four-storey building, causing her death. Police arrested both men and charged them with kidnapping, rape, and murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The victim's brother filed missing person and later murder complaints. Odisha's opposition leader condemned the incident, highlighting concerns over women's safety in the state.
