Bombay High Court Orders Release of Prateek Kanakia, Calls ED Arrest Illegal

The Bombay High Court ordered the immediate release of Prateek Kanakia, CEO of The Green Billions Ltd, ruling his January 5, 2026 arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) illegal. Kanakia was arrested in a money laundering case linked to alleged diversion of ₹50 crore from a loan sanctioned to Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Ltd. The court noted Kanakia had cooperated with investigations and found no justifiable reason for his arrest after bail was granted in the related CBI case.
