21-Year-Old Man Detained for Impersonating Army Brigadier in Shahjahanpur Sting
A 21-year-old man, Aryan Verma, was detained in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for impersonating an Indian Army Brigadier. After months of surveillance, Army officials set a sting operation inviting him to deliver a motivational speech at the Shaheed Museum in the cantonment area. Verma arrived in a Tata Harrier SUV adorned with military insignia, accompanied by two men posing as NSG commandos. Authorities recovered fake identity cards, a regimental cane, a replica pistol, and other military paraphernalia. The case is under investigation by Army Intelligence and local police.
