
The CBI has registered a disproportionate assets case against Hari Prakash Sharma, a CGST Superintendent in Nashik, who was previously arrested in October for allegedly accepting a Rs. 5 lakh bribe. The complaint alleges Sharma amassed assets beyond his known income. Searches at his premises reportedly recovered Rs. 19 lakh in cash and incriminating documents. Sharma was previously caught accepting a bribe related to a private company's IGST input matter.
