A forensic investigation in East Godavari district confirmed that milk adulterated with ethylene glycol caused acute renal failure, leading to the deaths of nine to ten people and hospitalisation of several others, including infants, in Rajamahendravaram. The contaminated milk was supplied by vendor Addala Ganeswara Rao from Narasapuram village to over 100 families. Authorities linked the toxic exposure to milk consumption after clinical and epidemiological findings, and the milk supply has been halted pending further action.
