
A suicide bombing in Aleppo, Syria, killed one police officer and injured several others on Wednesday, according to state news agency SANA. The attacker detonated explosives after police attempted to arrest him in a busy neighborhood near the city's historic center. This incident occurred shortly before New Year's and follows a separate mosque bombing in Homs that killed at least eight people. No group has claimed responsibility for the Aleppo attack.
