
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at over 25 locations in Odisha's Ganjam district, seizing Rs 2.63 crore in cash and several vehicles linked to illegal sand and black stone mining. The investigation, based on FIRs and Comptroller and Auditor General reports, targets syndicates accused of forcibly taking over mining leases, using false transit permissions, and causing significant government revenue losses. Several accused have criminal cases including murder and extortion, with the ED probing under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
