Maharashtra ACB Arrests Two GST Officials and Middleman in Nashik Bribery Case

The Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two GST officials, Somnath Dattu Page and Machindra Vitthal Donde, along with a middleman, Amit Hingman Jadhav, for allegedly demanding a Rs 1.25 crore bribe from a Nashik businessman to expedite a GST investigation. After negotiations, the bribe was reduced to Rs 1 crore, with a Rs 20 lakh instalment paid during a trap operation on March 6. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered, and investigations continue.
