Crime in Guntur district decreased by 13% in 2025, with 8,937 cases registered compared to 10,252 in 2024, according to Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal. The police enhanced vigilance on criminals and conducted awareness programs against drug abuse. Significant seizures of ganja and other drugs were made, and 403 peddlers and consumers were arrested. The PD Act was invoked against 11 individuals, and 1,297 cases were registered under the COPTA Act.
