
In Bihar's Saran district, five people have died since March 11 after allegedly consuming spurious liquor, amid the state's total alcohol prohibition since 2016. The deceased include Santosh Mahto, Suken Nutt, Dharmendra Rai, Raghuvar Mahto, and Pankaj Singh. Authorities have arrested individuals for possessing illicit liquor and formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the incident. Several others remain hospitalized, and preventive measures and raids have been intensified to curb illegal liquor production and sale.
