Cybercrime in Chandigarh has escalated significantly over the past five years, with 2025 showing the most intense activity. Official data reveals 607 FIRs registered between 2021-2025, involving over Rs 148 crore defrauded. This year alone, 150 FIRs have led to Rs 44 crore in losses, but also a record Rs 11.27 crore recovery. Police have made 526 arrests in total over five years, with 147 arrests this year, marking an improved response to the growing financial impact of cyber fraud.
