EOW Files Chargesheet in Mithi River Desilting Scam; Businessman Granted Bail

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) filed a 7,000-page second supplementary chargesheet in the alleged ₹65.5 crore Mithi River desilting scam, naming accused Mahesh Purohit and Sunil Upadhyay for submitting forged documents and manipulating tender conditions. Earlier arrests include businessman Shersingh Rathore, who was granted bail after a court found prima facie evidence that silt and debris were removed as per contract terms. Investigations allege collusion between Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials and contractors causing financial losses.
