A Chandigarh woman, Komal Sharma, has been booked for allegedly marking fake attendance and drawing a salary without reporting for duty as a clerk with the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Sharma, the sister-in-law of Chandigarh councillor Suman Sharma, reportedly submitted attendance reports for a considerable period while absent. The matter came to light during an inquiry prompted by delayed attendance reports. She was remanded in two-day custody after a case was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
