
Armed robbers looted gold worth around Rs 5 crore and cash from the Bank of Maharashtra branch in Barbil, Keonjhar district, Odisha, on Monday afternoon. Five to six assailants, reportedly speaking Hindi and Odia, entered the bank on motorcycles, threatened staff and customers with firearms, and fled within 20 minutes. They also took the CCTV recorder containing footage of the robbery. Police suspect the robbers may be from Jharkhand or Bihar and have launched an investigation.
