Two Deported Bangladeshi Women Re-Arrested in Mumbai for Illegal Re-entry

Mumbai Police have re-arrested two Bangladeshi women, Juleka Jamal Shaikh and Bilkis Begum Sirmiya Akthar, who had previously been deported in August 2025. Both women re-entered India through illegal border crossings in West Bengal and were apprehended in Mumbai's Cuffe Parade and Gateway of India areas. They have been booked under the Foreigners Act and other relevant laws, and are currently held in Byculla women's prison. Authorities are investigating potential involvement of organized networks in their re-entry.
