Kapoor Family Moves Madras High Court Over Sridevi's Chennai Property Dispute

Boney Kapoor and his daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, have approached the Madras High Court challenging the rejection by an additional district court in Chengalpattu of a civil suit involving 4.7 acres of property on East Coast Road, Chennai, originally purchased by the late actress Sridevi. The dispute involves claims by Chandrabanu and her children, who assert rights to the land. The Kapoor family argues that Chandrabanu's marriage to the original owner was legally invalid due to bigamy, alleging suppression of this fact in court filings. The High Court has stayed further proceedings and scheduled a hearing for March 26, 2026.
