Nine people, including five children, were fatally stabbed overnight in Suriname's capital, Paramaribo. Police reported that a male suspect attacked victims with a sharp object, killing four adults and five children, while a sixth child and an adult were seriously injured. Officers opened fire on the suspect during his arrest, wounding him in the legs. He is hospitalized under police guard. Local media reports suggest the suspect may have mental health issues and that some victims were his own children and neighbors.
