Nine Arrested in Inter-State Infant Trafficking Racket Spanning Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh Police arrested nine individuals linked to an inter-state infant trafficking racket operating across Punjab and Haryana. The gang allegedly sold newborns to childless couples for hefty sums, bypassing the Central Adoption Resource Authority's legal adoption process. The investigation began after a complaint by Rohit Rana, who was defrauded by an agent promising adoption services. Police recovered a minor and handed the child to a special adoption agency under Juvenile Justice Board orders. The accused include agents and accomplices from Punjab and Haryana.
