Kerala Film Producer Sentenced to Two Years in Two Cheating Cases

A Kerala court sentenced film producer Joby George to two years' imprisonment and fines in two cheating cases involving promises of jobs and business opportunities abroad. In one case, he cheated a couple by taking Rs 17.75 lakh to help start a business in the UK, and in another, he cheated an individual of Rs 50 lakh by promising an employment visa. His mother and wife were acquitted. The court suspended the sentence for a month to allow an appeal.
