Al Qaeda Praises Foiled Flydubai Hijacking, Calls for Attacks on US and Israeli Planes
Al Qaeda has praised the attempted hijacking of flydubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv and called for similar attacks on American and Israeli aircraft, referencing the September 11, 2001 attacks. The call appeared in al-Bayan, a weekly publication linked to Al Qaeda, circulated on Telegram before removal. The incident involved Omani co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami attacking the Indian captain, who regained control and averted disaster. Investigations continue into possible terror links and social media activity related to the co-pilot.
