
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to the Uttarakhand government seeking a report on the alleged murder of Anjel Chakma, a 24-year-old student from Tripura. Chakma died on December 26 after being attacked on December 9 in Dehradun by a group of men who allegedly used racial slurs. The NHRC has requested information on arrests, the circumstances of the attack, and measures to ensure the safety of students from the Northeast in Uttarakhand.
