Union Minister Bandi Sanjay's Son Granted Police Custody in POCSO Case
Bageerath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, was arrested on May 16 in connection with a POCSO case registered on May 8 at Petbasheerabad police station. The case involves allegations by a 17-year-old girl accusing him of sexual assault, leading to charges under the BNS and POCSO Act. A local court granted police two days' custody starting May 27. Bageerath filed a counter-complaint alleging coercion by the girl and her family, resulting in a separate FIR. The Telangana High Court denied him interim protection from arrest.
