
Ludhiana police are investigating a large-scale fraud involving tampering with 119 State Bank of India ATMs between 2020 and 2021, resulting in losses of around ₹1 crore. The fraudsters exploited a technical glitch causing transactions to appear failed while cash was dispensed, allowing double withdrawals. Separately, a suspended SBI employee was booked for allegedly embezzling nearly ₹38 lakh by manipulating accounts. Authorities continue probing both cases to identify and apprehend the accused.
