UP STF Arrests Man from Haryana in Rs 15,000-Crore GST Fraud Case

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested Baldev alias Balli, a 38-year-old resident of Hisar, Haryana, in connection with a Rs 15,000-crore GST fraud. He allegedly used PAN details of individuals to create about 3,500 fake firms, generating bogus invoices and e-way bills to claim fraudulent input tax credits. The scam surfaced after a fake firm was registered using a senior journalist's PAN. Baldev, who has multiple cases against him, was introduced to the fraud by an associate named Archit Goyal. Investigations continue.
