RTO Agent Arrested in Thane for Alleged Bribery in Learner's Licence Issuance

An RTO agent, Krishnakumar Mishra (44) from Bhiwandi, was arrested in Thane for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe to issue a two-wheeler learner's licence. The Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau caught him accepting Rs 4,300 during a trap, after he had already collected Rs 700, despite the official fee being Rs 200. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
