The Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested Rehmat Ali Sheikh, a resident of Amritsar, wanted by Punjab Police for smuggling heroin, hand grenades, and pistols across the Punjab-Pakistan border. After two suspects were arrested and narcotics and arms seized in Punjab, Ali fled through Nepal and Bihar to Gujarat, where he worked at an embroidery factory in Ahmedabad. Interrogation revealed his involvement in a larger smuggling network. Gujarat ATS has informed Punjab Police and initiated legal steps for his handover.
