Mohali police are investigating the murder of 65-year-old Ashok Goel, wife of a former additional advocate general, found dead in her Phase 5 residence. Unidentified individuals, captured on CCTV entering the home late Monday, are considered prime suspects. The family reports ₹8.5 lakh cash and gold jewelry were stolen. Preliminary findings suggest the victim was tied and possibly smothered. Her caretaker, who survived the attack, is being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation into all possible angles.
