Rachakonda police apprehended over 300 motorists for drunk driving during a special enforcement drive from December 22 to 28. Offenders, whose blood alcohol levels varied significantly, had their vehicles seized and face court proceedings. Police emphasized the dangers of impaired driving and warned of severe penalties, including charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for fatal accidents. Courts previously imposed fines totaling ₹2,07,500 for drunk driving offenses.
