Three Maoists, including a woman, were killed in a gunfight with Odisha Police's Special Operation Group in the Gumma forest of Kandhamal district. The exchange of fire occurred Wednesday night after security forces, acting on a tip-off, launched a combing operation. Two identified male Maoists carried a bounty of over ₹23 lakh. A third unidentified woman Maoist's body was recovered later. No security personnel were harmed, and combing operations have intensified.
