Elderly Man Found Dead in Bhopal Lift Shaft After Nearly 10 Days

In Bhopal's Chinar Dream City, 77-year-old Pritam Giri fell into an open lift shaft on January 6 and was found dead nearly 10 days later after residents noticed a foul odor. Despite the lift malfunctioning, it reportedly operated over his body during this period. Family and residents allege negligence by the housing society's maintenance and management, citing ignored repair requests and non-functional CCTV cameras. Police have registered an unnatural death case and are investigating safety lapses and maintenance accountability.
