Four Arrested in Manipur for Extortion and Recruitment in Banned Groups

Four individuals linked to banned outfits were arrested in Manipur for alleged extortion and recruitment activities in valley districts. Two members of the banned National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) were detained in Imphal East district, alongside one member of the outlawed United National Liberation Front and another from the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon faction). These arrests follow ongoing police operations amid ethnic violence between Meitei and Kuki-Zo groups since May 2023, with the state under President's Rule since February 2023.
