The CBI has arrested Krishna Kumar Lakhwani, a Kanpur-based recruiter accused of sending Indian nationals to cyber scam centres in Southeast Asia, including Cambodia. He allegedly charged 300-400 USD per person, promising jobs abroad, and facilitated their travel. Victims were reportedly coerced into online fraud targeting Indians, facing intimidation and passport confiscation. The arrest followed surveillance and examination of evidence including videos and passport images recovered from the accused's phone.
