Uttarakhand Police Authority Recommends Disciplinary Action Over Dehradun House Demolition

The Uttarakhand State Police Complaints Authority has recommended disciplinary action against two police officers, including IPS officer Janmejay Khanduri and Clementown SHO Narendra Gehlawat, for gross negligence in a January 2022 Dehradun case. The officers failed to prevent the robbery and demolition of Kusum Kapoor's house, the widow of a former Navy officer, and did not register an FIR promptly. The authority cited serious economic, physical, mental, and social harm to Kapoor and violations of her human rights, directing the Home Department to take action and report back.
