
Mohammad Naushad Qureshi, a 41-year-old man from Prayagraj district, was arrested in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, following an encounter with police. He is accused of stealing and slaughtering two cows in Barsanda village. During a police check, Qureshi reportedly opened fire, leading to retaliatory firing that injured him. Authorities recovered an illegal pistol, cartridges, and a motorcycle from him, while three associates fled. Police continue searching for the remaining suspects under the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.
