Punjab Police launched 'Operation Prahar,' a 72-hour statewide crackdown involving 12,000 personnel targeting 60 gangsters based abroad and 1,200 associates within the state. The operation aims to dismantle the entire gangster ecosystem, including weapon supply, logistics, and financial networks. A new Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell, led by IG Ashish Chaudhary, will focus on extraditing fugitives. Authorities also introduced a 24/7 anti-gangster helpline to encourage public cooperation. The campaign aligns with Punjab's broader efforts to eliminate organized crime and ensure zero tolerance for aiding criminals.
