Sanitation Worker Dies After Garbage Compactor Detaches in Nagpur

A 39-year-old sanitation worker, Siddharth Chandrakant Ghodke, died in Nagpur after a hydraulic compactor hopper detached from a garbage truck and fell on him due to a technical fault. The incident occurred near Budhwari market while he was on duty for a private company contracted by the Nagpur civic body. Following the accident, his family and colleagues protested, alleging frequent vehicle breakdowns and demanding Rs 25 lakh compensation. Police are investigating and have engaged with the contractor to manage the situation.
