Delhi Businessman Sentenced in US for Illegal Export of Aviation Components to Russia

Sanjay Kaushik, a 58-year-old businessman from Delhi, was sentenced in the US to 30 months in prison and 36 months of supervised release for conspiring to illegally export controlled aviation components, including a navigation and flight control system, from Oregon to Russia. Kaushik and co-conspirators falsely claimed the components were for a civilian helicopter in India to obtain export licenses. He pleaded guilty in October 2025 and has been in custody since 2024.
