Deaf-Mute Minor Allegedly Gang Raped at Cousin's Wedding in Lakhimpur Kheri; One Arrested

A deaf-mute minor girl attending her cousin's wedding in Lakhimpur Kheri was allegedly gang raped by two local men after being lured into a nearby sugarcane field. The victim was found distressed by family members, prompting police investigation. One accused, Javed, was arrested after a police encounter in which he sustained a gunshot injury; efforts continue to apprehend the second suspect. The victim, belonging to a Scheduled Tribe, received medical treatment and forensic evidence was collected.
