Man Booked for Abetting College Student's Suicide in Palghar, Maharashtra

A 20-year-old man from Washim has been booked under section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for abetting the suicide of a 19-year-old college student in Palghar, Maharashtra. The woman died by suicide at Virar railway station on January 29. According to police and the victim's mother, the accused befriended her online, promised marriage, and allegedly refused to marry her after she became pregnant, causing her distress. The medical report confirmed the pregnancy at the time of death.
