Retired Navy Officer Arrested with Ganja and Cannabis Plants in Kerala

A 37-year-old retired Navy officer, Binu V. William, was arrested in Kerala's Alappuzha district after excise officials seized 1.2 kg of ganja and 10 cannabis plants from his residence in Poomkavu. The search, led by Circle Inspector A. Sebastian, was based on a tip-off. Officials stated William had consumed contraband during and after his 15 years of service and sourced it from Bengaluru. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered, with intensified drug inspections planned during the upcoming election period.
