Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police apprehended Hasan Ali, an Assam resident, in Saitual district, Mizoram, on January 2, 2026. The arrest, based on intelligence about drug trafficking near the Indo-Myanmar border, resulted in the seizure of 11 kg of meth tablets valued at ₹33 crore. Ali has been transferred to Mizoram Police custody along with the confiscated narcotics.
