CBI Registers Cases in Puducherry Counterfeit Drug Manufacturing Investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered two cases against three suspects involved in illegal drug manufacturing, storage, and distribution in Puducherry. Acting on the union territory government's request, the CBI's Anti Corruption Unit conducted searches at Mettupalayam and Sedarapet, seizing pharmaceutical products and equipment. Investigations revealed violations of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and suggested complex supply chains with possible inter-State links and organized criminal involvement.
