Mumbai police reported a decrease in drunk-driving cases on New Year's Eve, with 211 cases registered compared to higher numbers in previous years. A large-scale traffic police deployment of over 1,700 personnel was in place, enforcing various traffic violations and collecting over Rs 1.31 crore in fines.
