LPG Cylinder Thefts Reported in Kerala and Karnataka Amid Ongoing Shortage

Amid a nationwide LPG shortage worsened by the West Asia conflict, thefts of cooking gas cylinders have been reported in Kerala and Karnataka. In Thiruvananthapuram, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was stolen from VS Hotel after the accused disabled and redirected CCTV cameras. The theft forced the restaurant to close due to limited LPG supply. In Bengaluru, multiple cylinder thefts from residential areas were captured on CCTV, prompting police investigations and advisories for residents to secure their cylinders. Authorities continue probing these incidents.
