
Kerala police arrested five migrant workers from Murshidabad, West Bengal, seizing 30 kg of suspected ganja at Puthencruz on February 28. The group reportedly transported the drug by train to Aluva, then by autorickshaw to Puthencruz, where they were detained at a bus shelter. Authorities said the contraband was intended for sale among migrant workers and that the suspects had been under surveillance. Recent seizures in the region include 51 kg from Perumbavoor and smaller amounts from nearby areas.
