
On January 18, a speeding truck crashed into two stationary cars at the Semri Toll Plaza on Kanpur Highway in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The impact flung 56-year-old toll worker Ramakant Richhariya onto a car bonnet, dragging him and the vehicles for over 50 meters before the truck stopped. The worker and several passengers were injured and taken to a local health center. Eyewitnesses suspect overspeeding or intoxication, while authorities have yet to confirm the cause. The incident has raised public concerns about toll plaza safety.
