Gurugram Man Arrested for Allegedly Using Fake Payment Screenshots to Avoid Rs 6 Lakh Hotel Bill

A 26-year-old man named Himanshu from Sohna allegedly stayed at a Gurugram hotel for nearly five months without paying a Rs 6.17 lakh bill. He reportedly sent 16 fake payment screenshots generated via a fraudulent PhonePe-like app to the hotel operator, who later found no actual payments credited. After a complaint, police arrested Himanshu, confiscated his phone, and registered an FIR. Investigations continue amid warnings about verifying digital payments directly through banking channels.
